Description: About King University Founded in 1867, King University is a comprehensive Christian university located in Bristol, Tennessee. King is dedicated to providing students with a rich and rigorous academic experience that integrates faith, learning, and service in a close-knit, student-centered community. King University is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to support the daily financial operations of the Business Office. This role requires accurate financial recordkeeping, timely transaction processing, and compliance with accounting standards and university policies. Founded in 1867, King University is a comprehensive Christian university located in Bristol, Tennessee. King is dedicated to providing students with a rich and rigorous academic experience that integrates faith, learning, and service in a close-knit, student-centered community.

Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. • 2-4 years of accounting experience, preferably in a higher education or similar environment. • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and reconciliation processes. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software. • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. • High level of accuracy and attention to detail. • Commitment to the Christian mission of King University and ability to articulate a personal statement of faith.

Responsibilities: • Serve as a backup for accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts. • Prepare and post journal entries. • Assist with monthly and year-end financial reporting. • Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies. • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation. • Collaborate with departments to resolve account issues. • Assist with audits and prepare supporting documentation. • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations. • Provide customer service to faculty, staff, students, and vendors. • Maintain confidentiality of financial information.

Language: Proficiency in written and spoken English required

Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
