Full Job Description

Position: Registered Echo Technician/Sonographer - Auto Offer
Address: Bronx, NY 10451
Duration: 3+ months (Possible extensions or FT Conversions)
Shift: Days | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | 5x8s

Weekly Gross: $2760 to $2880 (Based on 40/hr - Week)
Required Experience:

Required

One (1) year of Registered Echo Technician/Sonographer experience.

Required

Completion of an appropriate training program for Ultrasound Technologist, including Military Training.
Graduation from High School or possession of a High School Equivalency Diploma.
Successful completion of an Ultrasound Echocardiogram Program.

Required Certifications & Licensure

Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) issued by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), or
Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) issued by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
Current BCLS according to American Heart Association
Confirm patient identification.
Check physician orders and/or special instructions via the Electronic Medical Records.
Provide special instructions to the family/significant other.
Demonstrate knowledge of heart anatomy using ultrasound imaging techniques.
Perform echocardiogram testing and report significant findings to the Cardiologist and ordering physician.
Maintain and document patient information and preliminary findings in the log book.
Prepare VCR tapes for cardiologist review and interpretation.
Document completion of ECHO in the Electronic Medical Records.
Follow medical equipment protocols, including tagging, removing, and cleaning equipment.
Maintain and order supplies as needed.
Keep daily statistics.
Maintain a clean and orderly patient environment.
Follow established procedures for securing patients' clothing and personal property.
Conform to policies governing patient rights and confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines.
Demonstrate sensitivity to diversity in the workplace.
Maintain professional competency through continuing education, in-service training, and self-directed education.
Adhere to uniform, attendance, and punctuality policies.
Carry out established Infection Control protocols.
Participate in Performance Improvement activities.
Participate in Clinical Guidelines processes.
Ensure a safe and secure environment to reduce the risk of injury to patients, visitors, and staff.
Conform to current National Patient Safety Goals.
Ensure compliance with yearly mandates.
Participate in team-building activities.
Effectively utilize both electronic and paper medical records.
Maintain clinical competency.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Head/Charge Nurse, including answering telephones, contacting patients by telephone, and assisting patients to seats.
