Full Job Description

Job Summary

The Loan Processing Specialist is responsible for accurately managing commercial and consumer lending documentation through PrimeSouth Bank’s established systems as well as reviewing it to ensure it is completed in full and complies with current banking regulations and policies.

Essential Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The individual with this position in our company will be expected, on a regular basis, to:

Review loan files from lender, interact with all parties to ensure required information is received, questions are clarified, and proper signatures obtained.
Help review and confirm program guidelines to ensure files meet parameters.
Ensure files move through to processing and then work with the processors to make sure our underwriting/closing team fund the loans.
Prepare loan closing documentation packages in compliance with current banking regulations and bank loan policies.
Ensure files move through to closing and work with the lending staff to make sure the loan is funded in accordance with the loan documentation.
This position requires strict attention to detail in verifications of all preliminary information, collateral information, program guidelines, loan rates, etc.
Review the status of current loans outstanding and performs follow-up activities.
Coordinate correspondence related to lending processes or functions
Maintain professional business relationships with vendors and other professionals in the community in support of our lenders
Establish and maintain effective rapport with co-workers, internal/external customers, and other employees to ensure work assignments are conducted smoothly and appropriately
Negotiate and resolve conflicts regarding work assignments; communicates problems, suggestions, etc. to Manager when needed.
Follow-up with clients to request missing documentation.
Must present yourself professionally at all times when working with clients.
Perform other duties as assigned while supporting the accomplishment of our company goals

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

Basic knowledge of lending terminology
In-depth knowledge of the industry and current trends
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency in computer skills using Microsoft software programs, specifically spreadsheet capabilities and database development
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Strong analytical skills and the ability to organize and maintain large amounts of data
Characteristics including honesty, integrity, and professionalism
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

Minimum Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or high school equivalency diploma is required. A Bachelor’s degree or completion of college coursework related to business, finance, accounting, or other related field is preferred.

Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of loan processing experience is required.

Work Authorization

Must be authorized to work in the United States. No security clearance needed. Candidate will need to pass a drug test, credit history check, and criminal background check. Prior convictions could be considered if the candidate can show that they are not relevant to performance in this role.
