POSITION SUMMARY:
Manages a team to coordinate GPC automobile transportation logistics, ensuring efficient and cost-effective service delivery. Oversees ocean carrier bookings (container and Ro/Ro), manages all related documentation and manifests, and ensures compliance with U.S. Customs regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Oversight of Logistics team and functions
- Daily interface with Ocean Carriers and Container Freight Stations
- Daily interface United States customs broker ensuring timely submissions and oversight
- Daily interface with Container Freight Stations loading/unloading operations
- Knowledge of regulations including US Customs, ocean and US flag policies
- Ensure cargo movement aligned with corporate transportation matrix
- Facilities coordination of moves that require special handling; Regional Point Moves, Partial site, Bluebark, Wounded Warrior and military unit moves
- Obtains ocean carrier bookings, manage sailing schedules, Ocean Carrier shipping instructions generations and route Creations / Updates
- Monitors required delivery dates and trouble shoots where POVs are delayed in transit
- Assist in Contract reviews and analysis for Ocean and Container freight stations
- Lead with one off ocean bookings in accordance with US Flag requirement as needed
- Lead in Foreign Flag waiver process
- Assist vehicle processing center / storage sites / Container Freight Stations (VPC / VSF/ CFS) with TMS updates
- Processing numerous daily emails with same day responses
- Other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in ocean transportation
- Familiarity with US flag and Jones Act carriers
- Experience in team management or leadership
- Have an extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing (English primary, additional languages a plus)
- Strong problem – solving and decision-making abilities, quick thinker and detail oriented
- Must have the ability to develop and recommend business process improvement / procedures.

- Valid driver’s license and good driving records
- Must be able to obtain a valid Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC)
- Capable of obtaining a U.S. Passport and travel as necessary (105 or less)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to perform all duties in a normal office environment in an efficient, fast paced manner. Lifting / boxing of files, operation of typical office machines.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work performed in pleasant, open office environment. Dress is business casual.
