Job Title: Foreman / Maintenance Machine Set-Up Technician

Job Summary

The Foreman / Maintenance Machine Set-Up Technician is responsible for supervising daily production operations while ensuring all production machinery is properly set up, maintained, and operating efficiently. This position leads production personnel, coordinates workflow, performs machine setup and preventive maintenance, troubleshoots equipment issues, and ensures compliance with safety and quality standards to achieve production goals with minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities

Production Supervision

Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of production employees.
Assign work schedules and monitor employee performance and productivity.
Ensure production targets, quality standards, and delivery schedules are achieved.
Train, mentor, and evaluate production personnel.
Enforce company policies, safety regulations, and housekeeping (5S) practices.
Maintain production records, reports, and shift documentation.
Coordinate with management regarding production schedules, manpower, and operational issues.

Machine Set-Up and Maintenance

Set up production machines and equipment according to production requirements.
Perform machine adjustments and changeovers for different product runs.
Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems.
Repair or replace defective machine components as needed.
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
Inspect machinery before, during, and after production to ensure proper operation.
Assist with equipment installation, modification, and continuous improvement projects.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and service logs.

Quality, Safety, and Continuous Improvement

Ensure products meet quality specifications and customer requirements.
Promote a safe working environment and ensure compliance with OSHA/company safety standards.
Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency and equipment performance.
Reduce waste, improve machine uptime, and support Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production and maintenance work area.

Qualifications

High school diploma or Technical/Vocational certification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Technology; an associate degree is preferred.
Minimum of 3–5 years of manufacturing experience, including machine setup and maintenance.
Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is preferred.
Strong knowledge of production processes, machine operation, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and machine drawings.
