Job Overview

We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. In this pivotal role, you will assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and service are maintained. Your leadership will help foster a vibrant, efficient, and innovative kitchen environment, supporting both fine dining and catering services. This position offers an exciting opportunity for culinary professionals passionate about food production, team management, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Duties

Assist in supervising kitchen staff, including cooks, food prep teams, and service personnel to ensure smooth shift operations
Lead food preparation and cooking activities to meet quality standards and presentation expectations
Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and minimizing waste through effective food management practices
Enforce food safety sanitizing procedures and ensure compliance with all health regulations
Oversee catering events and banquet services, coordinating menu planning and execution for large groups
Support menu development by contributing creative ideas aligned with fine dining standards and customer preferences
Supervise dietary department activities when applicable, ensuring special dietary needs are met accurately and efficiently
Manage shift schedules, monitor labor costs, and implement cost control measures to optimize kitchen productivity
Train new team members on food handling, cooking techniques, and hospitality standards
Maintain a positive team environment by providing leadership, mentorship, and performance feedback

Qualifications

Proven experience in food production within a restaurant or catering environment; fine dining experience preferred
Demonstrated supervisory experience managing culinary teams in fast-paced settings
Strong background in banquet service, food safety sanitizing procedures, and inventory management
Knowledge of menu planning, food handling protocols, and kitchen management systems
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams effectively
Experience in managing food costs, controlling inventory, and ensuring high standards of food safety and sanitation
Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings and weekends as required by hospitality operations
Passion for culinary arts combined with a commitment to hospitality excellence

Pay: $61,670.18 - $70,000.00 per year
