Overnight Part-Time & Per Diem Monitor Technician (IMCU)

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center is seeking Overnight Part-Time and Per Diem Monitor Technicians to join our Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment and are committed to providing exceptional patient care. The Monitor Technician plays a vital role in supporting our nursing staff by monitoring cardiac rhythms, managing physician orders, and coordinating unit communications to ensure safe and efficient patient care.

Position Summary

The Monitor Technician is responsible for cardiac rhythm monitoring, clerical support, order management, and communication duties within the Telemetry Department.. The successful candidate will maintain competency in cardiac monitoring while providing administrative support that contributes to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Primary Responsibilities

Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and promptly recognize and report arrhythmias to nursing staff.
Maintain accurate cardiac monitoring documentation and patient records.
Process physician orders accurately and efficiently.
Perform reception, communication, clerical, and secretarial duties for the nursing unit.
Coordinate unit communications to support efficient patient care operations.
Maintain patient documentation in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
Demonstrate ongoing competency and compliance with departmental policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to support exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

Required

High school diploma or equivalent.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
Successful completion of a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia Course within 30 days of hire.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 60 days of hire.
Successful completion of the Department of Education and Staff Development Arrhythmia Detection Course and examination.

Preferred

Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in a healthcare-related field.
Three (3) months of related healthcare experience.
EMT certification.
Previous experience in telemetry, cardiac monitoring, or an acute care hospital setting.

Memorial is also home to the Golisano Medical Oncology Center, which operates in collaboration with Roswell Park Comprehensive Care Center.
