Dietary Server

Position Summary
The Dietary Server supports the Dietary Services department by preparing, assembling, and serving meals to residents, patients, and guests in accordance with established schedules, food safety standards, and therapeutic diet requirements. This role ensures accurate meal delivery, maintains a clean and sanitary work environment, and provides courteous assistance with meal‑related needs. The Dietary Server works collaboratively with the dietary team, follows departmental procedures, and contributes to consistent, high‑quality meal service within a healthcare or senior living setting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Prepare, assemble, and deliver meal trays for breakfast, lunch, and dinner according to established schedules.
· Take, record, and verify resident, patient, or guest meal orders, ensuring selections align with therapeutic diet requirements, allergy restrictions, and individual preferences.
· Communicate order details accurately to support precise tray assembly and timely meal service.
· Serve meals while maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and customer service.
· Follow physician-ordered therapeutic diets and resident dietary preferences to ensure accurate meal service.
· Assist residents, patients, or guests with meal-related needs and answer basic dietary service questions.
· Ensure meal trays are correctly prepared and distributed in accordance with dietary guidelines and individual preferences.
· Open and prepare kitchen and dining areas following departmental procedures.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment.
· Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
· Assist with kitchen cleaning, stocking, and routine maintenance tasks.
· Identify and report safety concerns and contribute to a safe working environment.
· Support team operations by performing additional duties as assigned.
· Complete all mandatory/required JCHC training and/or events
· Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational needs.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent - Required
- Previous customer service experience - Preferred
- One (1) year of food service, healthcare dining, hospitality, or related experience - Preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout scheduled shifts.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as needed.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Knowledge of therapeutic diets and food service safety practices.
Pay: From $17.21 per hour
