Community Outreach Representative – Local Marketing & Estimate Scheduling

White Oak Painting · Burlington, IA (+ 35-mile radius) · Part-Time, 20–25 hrs/week
$16/hr base + uncapped commission · estimated $25–$30/hr

We're White Oak Painting, a premium residential painting company in southeast Iowa. We're looking for someone to be our friendly, in-person presence in the neighborhoods we serve — meeting homeowners, building real connections, and helping good people take the first step toward a home they love.

About the Role

This is a people role first and a marketing role second.

Most of your week is spent in the neighborhoods we work in — knocking on doors, introducing yourself, and having warm, unhurried conversations with homeowners. When you meet someone whose home could use our help, you'll schedule an estimate for our sales team. That's the heart of it: genuine conversations that turn into appointments.

The rest of the role is about visibility — representing White Oak at local events like farmers markets and trade shows, placing yard signage in active neighborhoods, and helping our name become a familiar, trusted one across the area.

You're not selling paint at the door. You're being a good neighbor, and the rest follows.

What You'll Do

Walk local neighborhoods and introduce homeowners to White Oak in a warm, professional way
Schedule qualified estimate appointments for our sales team
Represent us at community events (farmers markets, trade shows, local gatherings)
Place and manage yard signage in the areas we're working + other neighborhoods
Hang door flyers and handouts
Keep your activity organized in our CRM so nothing slips through the cracks
Share what you're learning in the field to help us improve

Who You Are

You genuinely enjoy people and find it easy to start a conversation
You're warm, calm, and confident — never pushy
You read people well and make them feel comfortable
A "no" doesn't rattle you; you understand it's part of the rhythm
You're organized, dependable, and don't need someone standing over you
You're comfortable being the face of a brand you believe in
You have a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle (this is a field role covering a wide area)

Sales or customer-service experience is a plus, but the right personality matters far more. We can teach the process. We can't teach warmth.

Compensation

Blended: $16/hour base plus $30 for every qualified estimate you schedule — uncapped. The base gives you steady, dependable income while you learn. The commission rewards you for being great with people. Strong representatives comfortably reach the $20–$28/hour range.
