Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated RRT-ECMO Specialist to join our advanced critical care team. Offering a $20k sign on bonus with relocation assistance up to $7k in relocation assistance and a strong pension plan. This role involves providing specialized respiratory support, including extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), to critically ill patients across various hospital settings. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in respiratory therapy, critical care, and emergency medicine, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through expert assessment, management, and intervention. Responsibilities
- Administer and monitor ECMO therapy, ensuring precise operation of extracorporeal circuits and related equipment.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, respiratory status, and physiological parameters.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for critically ill patients.
- Manage airway interventions and ventilator settings to optimize respiratory function.
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of ECMO and respiratory support devices.
- Assist in emergency procedures such as airway management, medication administration, and rapid response interventions.
- Monitor patient responses closely, adjusting therapies as needed based on clinical data and physiological responses.
- Document all procedures, assessments, and interventions accurately within electronic health records.
- Educate patients’ families regarding treatment plans, procedures, and expected outcomes.
- Maintain compliance with hospital protocols, safety standards, and infection control practices.
Requirements
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential with current licensure.
- Proven experience in hospital medicine, critical care units (ICU), PICU (Pediatric ICU), or trauma centers.
- Extensive knowledge of pulmonology, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to respiratory care.
- Hands-on experience with ECMO systems and ventilator management in acute care settings.
- Strong skills in airway management, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and patient assessment.
- Familiarity with hospital environments including Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma centers preferred.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification; advanced certifications such as ACLS or PALS are advantageous.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced emergency situations within inpatient or outpatient settings.
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and patient families.
- Knowledge of pediatrics and geriatrics is desirable for comprehensive patient care.
