Full Job Description

A well-established Vermont company is seeking a detail-oriented Parts Manager to support its fleet and maintenance operations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring equipment and vehicles remain operational by maintaining accurate inventory, coordinating with vendors, and supplying parts needed for repairs.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, communication, and problem-solving are essential.

The Parts Manager is responsible for managing inventory, ordering and receiving parts, maintaining vendor relationships, and supporting a busy maintenance department. This individual will help ensure repairs are completed efficiently by keeping the right parts available while maintaining cost-effective inventory practices.

Responsibilities

Manage and maintain parts inventory to ensure adequate stock levels.
Perform routine cycle counts and maintain accurate inventory records.
Order parts and supplies while monitoring inventory levels and forecasting future needs.
Receive, inspect, label, and organize incoming parts.
Build and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.
Source quality parts and negotiate competitive pricing.
Coordinate with the maintenance team to identify parts needed for scheduled and emergency repairs.
Ensure timely delivery of parts to minimize equipment downtime.
Maintain proficiency with inventory management software and related databases.
Accurately bill all parts to the appropriate service work orders.
Continuously improve inventory processes while minimizing carrying costs.
Assist the Fleet Manager and maintenance leadership with additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

Previous experience in parts, inventory, fleet, automotive, diesel, heavy equipment, construction, or related industries preferred.
Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
Experience using inventory management software and computer systems.
Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Valid driver's license preferred.
