Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented entry level- Mortgage Lending Administrative Assistant to join our team!

Summary

The Mortgage Lending Administrative Assistant will provide professional administrative support to the loan officer and underwriters by assisting in the loan process from application to closing. Researches and responds to customers on multiple issues from loan status to account information. The Mortgage Lending Administrative Assistant will order services, request documentation from borrowers, employers, depositories, etc., submit the file to underwriting, gather and clear conditions, coordinate the closing with the borrower and settlement agent, as well as review the file for compliance with program guidelines, regulatory compliance and required documentation. The Mortgage Lending Administrative Assistant may communicate with the borrower, realtor, insurance agency, attorney, employer and depository regarding routine matters associated with the mortgage process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to the following as other duties may be assigned. The following entries pertain to any loan application being processed by the Consumer Loan Department as applicable

Performs professional administrative support to mortgage lending officers and underwriting staff in the origination of residential mortgage loans.
Responsible for the proper processing of loan documentation for portfolio and secondary market mortgage requests.
May communicate with third parties to facilitate loan closings and problem resolution.
Coordinate loan file due diligence with various settlement agents, loan officers, underwriters, and customers.
Assists with loan closing process; scheduling closing dates, obtaining signatures, disbursement of loan proceeds, reviewing file documentation after closing to ensure accuracy of loan transactions.
If required, create or work with branch staff to create a Customer Information File (CIF) on bank systems prior to loan closing.
Input loan data into bank Onboard loan system for uploading to bank core system.
Coordinates and organizes loan files (digital and paper based).
Works with and assists closing attorney with documentation.
Review of loan pipeline reports to ensure completion of all loan file documentation in a timely manner.
Travel locally to pick up loan documents.
Create and process loan entries for accounting and loan servicing departments.
Reconcile general ledger accounts associated with mortgage processing.
Adheres to operational controls to ensure safety and security of the bank and customers, including legal, corporate, and regulatory procedures and policies.
Perform various additional duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED
All applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
Valid drivers license.
Mortgage loan and/or title knowledge or related experience is preferred but not required.
Professional appearance and demeanor with strong customer service values.
High level of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to multi-task and organize priorities with flexibility.
Strong attention to detail.
High level of computer literacy to include Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to interpret regulations and reports.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good follow-through skills.
Self-motivator with ability to work independently.

Ability to function in a professional office/branch environment.

PRIMARY WORK SCHEDULE

This is a full-time position. Days and hours required are Monday-Friday 8:00am- 5:00pm. This position may occasionally require longer hours.

Pay: $17.50 - $19.50 per hour
