Full Job Description

We are an established accounting firm seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team. This position is ideal for a motivated accounting professional who enjoys working directly with clients and has experience in payroll processing, bookkeeping, and tax preparation.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple client accounts while delivering exceptional service and maintaining the highest level of accuracy.

Responsibilities

Process payroll for multiple business clients, including payroll tax filings and quarterly reports.
Perform full-charge bookkeeping using various software
Prepare and reconcile bank and credit card accounts.
Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, and S corporation tax returns.
Assist clients with accounting, payroll, and tax-related questions.
Review financial records for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
Support year-end accounting and tax planning projects.
Stay current with federal and state tax laws and accounting standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
3–5 years of accounting experience preferred.
Experience with bookkeeping, payroll processing, and tax preparation.
Experience with professional tax preparation software.
Strong understanding of payroll tax reporting and compliance.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple client deadlines, especially during tax season.
Experience working with small business clients across multiple industries.
