Full Job Description

We are looking for a Kitchen Manager to lead the back of house operation for Rí Rá Irish Pub in Burlington, VT. Our location is high volume and is situated on Church Street in downtown Burlington. This location also encompasses the Burlington Whiskey Room.

Who You Are

- You are a “Culinarian”; you have a high level of passion for, and strong knowledge of food, food trends and culinary techniques

- You have a “Hands On” approach and like to be heavily involved with the BOH Team during each shift; including leading the line during peak business hours

- You have strong business acumen when it comes to the effective and efficient management of the BOH business

- You have strong planning, organization, time management, communication and delegation skills

- You understand “Genuine” hospitality

- You have a desire to build your BOH Team around you to propel their careers forward alongside your own

- You have a solid, proven, record of Kitchen Management experience in a high-volume, full service, scratch kitchen setting

- You ideally have ServSafe food management certification alongside any State or County required license requirements for the handling and service of food

- You ideally have an educational background with a focus in the culinary field

What You Will be Doing

- Assuming 100% responsibility and accountability for the BOH side of the business

- Leading the culinary advancement of the food menus and programs

- Leading the BOH financial (sales building and cost control), operational and personnel components of the business

- Acting as the spokesperson for the BOH in representing the brand and business at the local level

- Establishing, nurturing and maintaining trusted relationships with employees, guests, community groups, societies, vendors and local authorities

- Ensuring that all local and state laws are followed as related to the service of food and the BOH facility in general
