As an R&D Chemist, you will play a key role in formulating, testing, and optimizing modified asphalt formulations to meet performance criteria and market demands. Job Title: Asphalt Chemist - Lab/R&D
Salary: $70k to $95k / Plus Relocation Assistance / Bonus Potential
Key Responsibilities:
- Research & Development / Conducting Lab / QC Testing
- Perform thorough and accurate testing of asphalt products according to state regulations and internal quality standards.
- Utilize specialized equipment and techniques to assess the properties and composition of PMA, Binders, Emulsions, and Cutback.
- Document test results meticulously and maintain detailed records for analysis and reference.
- Machinery and Equipment Maintenance:
- Supervision and Goal Achievement:
- Collaborate with production teams to supervise and coordinate activities related to achieving production goals.
- Provide guidance and support to ensure adherence to quality standards and efficient workflow processes.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing processes and equipment efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Related Field
- Proven experience in a similar role within the asphalt or construction materials industry.
- In-depth knowledge of state-mandated testing procedures for asphalt products.
- Proficiency in operating laboratory equipment and conducting chemical analyses.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to perform maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment.
- Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective communication and leadership abilities to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
