Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cardiopulmonary Progressive Care Unit (PCU) team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide specialized nursing care for patients with cardiopulmonary conditions in a dynamic hospital environment. The position involves working days with rotating weekends, and includes a sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 for qualified candidates committed to delivering exceptional patient care.

Duties

Deliver comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients with cardiopulmonary conditions.
Administer medications, including IV infusions and botulinum toxin treatments, following strict aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
Monitor vital signs, interpret diagnostic evaluations such as cardiac catheterization results, and manage ventilators and other critical equipment.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, discharge planning, and education tailored to complex medical needs.
Ensure accurate documentation of patient care activities using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Provide emergency interventions in acute situations, including trauma or critical cardiac events, adhering to Level I Trauma Center standards when applicable.
Support patients experiencing acute pain or requiring specialized therapies such as dialysis or ostomy care, ensuring comfort and safety throughout their stay.

Requirements

Current RN licensure in the state of practice with at least one year of critical care experience in an ICU or similar setting.
Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate medical documentation.
Experience with cardiac procedures including catheterization and familiarity with ICD coding and diagnosis-related groups (DRGs).
Knowledge of advanced patient assessment techniques, physiology, and medication administration protocols including injections and IV insertions.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments such as emergency rooms or Level I Trauma Centers.
Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and HIPAA compliance standards.
