Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team and contribute to our company's financial health and compliance. In this role, you will be responsible for managing various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy in financial records, and supporting the organization’s adherence to accounting standards and regulations. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of our financial data, facilitate smooth audits, and support strategic decision-making. This position offers an exciting opportunity for professionals passionate about accounting, eager to apply their skills in a fast-paced environment. QuickBooks experience is highly recommended

Responsibilities

Prepare, review, and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes using financial software such as QuickBooks and Auris.
Conduct general ledger accounting activities in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and internal policies.
Support month-end and year-end closing procedures, including financial statement preparation and variance analysis.
Assist with compliance and ensure proper documentation of financial transactions.
Utilize accounting systems like QuickBooks for data entry, reporting, and analysis.
Perform detailed account analysis using Excel data analysis techniques to identify discrepancies or anomalies requiring resolution.
Collaborate with external auditors during audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial data.
Handle confidential information with integrity while maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism.

Skills

Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, GAAP, governmental accounting standards, and technical accounting concepts.
Proficiency in QuickBooks.
Experience with payroll systems like Auris (Heartland Payroll)
Excellent skills in Excel data analysis, spreadsheets management, and accounting system integration.
Ability to perform account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, journal entries, and double-entry bookkeeping efficiently.
Solid numeracy skills combined with analytical thinking for credit analysis and account analysis tasks.
Familiarity with internal controls related to SOX compliance and audit readiness procedures.
Effective communication skills for customer service interactions within finance teams or external auditors.
Attention to detail in handling sensitive financial data while ensuring accuracy in bookkeeping and financial reporting.
