Remodeling Apprentice
Mr. Mike’s Home Repair — Jacksonville, NC
Mr. Mike’s Home Repair is looking for a dependable, hardworking Remodeling Apprentice who wants to learn the residential construction and remodeling trades. This is an entry-level position for someone who may not know everything yet but is willing to listen, work hard, and improve every day.
You will work alongside experienced technicians on a variety of projects, including bathroom and kitchen remodels, flooring, drywall, painting, doors, trim, siding, decks, and general home repairs.
Responsibilities
- Assist experienced technicians with remodeling and repair projects
- Carry, load, unload, and organize tools and materials
- Protect customers’ floors, furniture, and belongings before work begins
- Keep jobsites, work vehicles, and company equipment clean and organized
- Perform demolition, cleanup, material preparation, and basic installation work
- Learn how to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and construction equipment
- Follow instructions and ask questions when something is unclear
- Take pride in completing clean, professional work
- Arrive on time and ready to work each day
- Follow all company safety procedures and jobsite standards

- Previous construction, maintenance, or remodeling experience is helpful but not required
- Basic hand tools are helpful but not required to begin

Growth Opportunities
This position is intended to develop into a skilled remodeling technician role. As you demonstrate reliability and gain experience, you may be trained in:
- Drywall repair and finishing
- Interior and exterior painting
- Flooring and trim installation
- Door and window installation
- Bathroom and kitchen remodeling
- Decks, porches, siding, and exterior repairs
- Basic plumbing and electrical repair tasks where legally permitted
- Jobsite leadership and project management
Pay increases and advancement opportunities are based on attendance, attitude, workmanship, productivity, certifications, and the ability to complete work with less supervision.

Position Details
- Job Type: Full-time
- Location: Jacksonville, North Carolina, and surrounding areas
- Schedule: Primarily Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime or weekend work
- Pay: Based on experience, skill level, reliability, and performance
- Work Setting: Residential homes, rental properties, remodels, and active construction sites
Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
