Full Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective
To contribute to a work environment where fairness, equality and non-discriminatory practices are the standard.

The E&S Coordinator will monitor EMS compliance and emergency response and planning programs through audits, reporting, training, policy and procedure development, incident tracking and investigation. Develop programs to improve safety performance and reduce accident/injury, illness and accident investigations. Assist with emergency preparedness and business continuity planning efforts; respond to incidents and facility emergencies. Work with Worker’s Compensation Carrier to ensure closure of cases.

Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Coordinate and disseminate information about new developments in EMS regulations and technologies so that the facility is aware of the new regulations and common technologies and developments, which will benefit it.
Coordinate and advise on regulatory impacts involving government agencies.
Manage EMS programs as required by OSHA and the EPA.
Work with Supplier issues.
Hold Safety Committee meetings monthly.
Maintain the Lockout/Tagout Program ensuring appropriate departments are completing their training and that records are kept.
Maintain the OSHA 399, OSHA 3001, and the OSHA 300A logs for the facility.
Maintain the ISO System and Manual, training records, Communication Board (in the lunchroom) and the Safety Boards in the plant.
Maintain and stock the First Aid room.
Ensure all departments are completing their required EMS training courses.
Maintain the Communication Program on the Vision system in the breakroom.
Maintain the Evacuation System and train accordingly throughout the year.
Facilitate the maintenance of the Waste oil and Water Storage areas.
Develop, implement, and manage Hazardous Waste Program per requirements of RCRA, SARA, and DOT for all waste streams; air, Wastewater, and solid/hazardous waste.
Inventory all hazardous materials in the workplace and provide a Safety Data Sheet on all substances, to all employees in both Gallatin and Chattanooga. Maintain as needed with the support of various plant departments.
E&S Coordinator must maintain safety contingency plans such as spill contingency plans if there is an accident in the workplace.
Manage the disposal of all waste, universal, recycling, and trash.
Complete required checks for stormwater, safety, and 6S on a daily, monthly, and quarterly basis as defined in the Environmental Management System.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office and a manufacturing environment. This role routinely involves standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts in the manufacturing environment. The noise level is usually moderate.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to grasp small items, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This position is Monday through Friday, with hours to be determined. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel may be required as job duties demand.

Preferred Education and Experience

High School or GED degree
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Knowledgeable in OSHA policies.
2+ years’ health and safety related experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the automotive industry
