Sub Teacher Source is a national education staffing company dedicated to building a network of highly effective substitute teachers and connecting them with public, private, and charter schools across the country. As a team of former educators and staffing professionals, we provide innovative staffing solutions that help school districts meet their workforce needs while delivering exceptional service to our employees and partners.

Job Description

This is a hybrid position that combines remote recruiting with regular travel throughout the assigned region. The Recruitment Specialist plays a critical role in identifying, attracting, and hiring high-quality substitute teachers and educational support staff to meet the staffing needs of our partner school districts.

This position is ideal for an energetic recruiter who enjoys connecting with people, building community relationships, attending recruiting events, and thinking creatively to develop new talent pipelines. Success in this role requires a sense of urgency, exceptional organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced staffing environment.

Responsibilities

Manage the full-cycle recruiting process for substitute teachers and educational support staff nationwide.
Maintain a strong understanding of your assigned territory and adjust recruitment strategies to meet changing staffing needs and hiring goals.
Review resumes, source qualified candidates, and proactively identify new talent through job boards, networking, referrals, social media, and other recruiting channels.
Contact, screen, interview, and guide candidates through the hiring and onboarding process.
Develop innovative sourcing strategies to build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified candidates.
Attend job fairs, career fairs, college recruiting events, community events, workforce development programs, and networking opportunities to recruit top talent and promote Sub Teacher Source.
Build relationships with colleges, universities, community organizations, workforce agencies, and other recruitment partners to expand candidate outreach.
Travel as needed to recruiting events, partner schools, hiring events, training sessions, company meetings, and other business-related activities.
Coordinate onboarding requirements, including employment documentation, college transcripts, criminal background releases, fingerprinting, and state-specific compliance requirements.
Collaborate with school districts and internal teams to ensure staffing needs are met efficiently.
Assist with emergency staffing requests and high-priority hiring initiatives.
Prepare and distribute recruiting and marketing materials.
Monitor substitute teacher attendance, performance, and engagement, addressing concerns professionally and escalating issues when appropriate.
Maintain accurate candidate records and documentation within recruiting databases and applicant tracking systems.
Develop expertise in company recruiting processes, compliance requirements, and staffing systems.
Perform additional recruiting, sourcing, outreach, and talent acquisition activities as needed to support company growth and ensure successful staffing for our partner schools.

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of staffing, talent acquisition, or high-volume recruiting experience required.
Previous experience recruiting for a staffing agency strongly preferred.
Experience recruiting within education, healthcare, or other high-volume staffing environments is a plus.
Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a hybrid environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and applicant tracking systems.
Flexible schedule with the ability to travel as business needs require.
A strong work ethic and commitment to delivering an exceptional candidate experience.
