Payroll Specialist / Bookkeeper (Full-Time)

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented, dependable Payroll Specialist / Bookkeeper to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and enjoys working directly with clients. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential.

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred, but equivalent bookkeeping or payroll experience will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Process payroll accurately and on time for multiple clients.
Maintain and review payroll systems to ensure accurate processing of:
Salaries and wages
Employee benefits
Garnishments
Payroll taxes
Other payroll deductions
Process payroll updates, including new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, and employee information updates.
Serve as the primary point of contact for client payroll questions and support.
Record daily financial transactions and maintain accurate bookkeeping records.
Reconcile bank accounts, payroll tax accounts, sales tax accounts, and 401(k) accounts on a monthly basis.
Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing financial information.
Assist with additional bookkeeping and accounting projects as needed.

Qualifications

Experience with payroll processing and bookkeeping preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is a plus.
Strong computer skills and proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
