As a Web Developer at SolutionBuilt you will be a fun, fast paced and challenging environment working on projects of all sizes. Our staff depends on our Web Developers expertise as we plan for design, development and marketing initiatives. As a valued team member, we want you to demonstrate your Web Development expertise while growing with our company for a long-term rewarding career.
You will work alongside our development and marketing teams to build pixel perfect websites, eCommerce and portal solutions. This includes working on new projects and existing websites from new requests to ongoing maintenance and optimization.
We would classify this role as a Midlevel Web Developer II:
Skill Web Development: Ability to build, test and deploy pixel perfect websites and pages based on Figma files that are functional, device and browser tested based on prescribed devices and OS/browser combinations.
Frontend and Backend Development: Exceptional frontend and backend development (HTML, CSS, PHP and JavaScript, & functional MySQL development).
Core WordPress: Deep Experience with custom theme development on WordPress using Gutenberg & Elementor editors
- Custom theme development from scratch.
- Custom post types, taxonomies, and meta boxes without plugin dependency.
- Able to build and maintain code with minimal use of plugins.
- Hooks and filters fluency (actions, filters, priorities).
- WP REST API consumption and basic extension.
- Build custom post types, taxonomies, and meta boxes without leaning on a plugin.
- Functional-level plugin development.
Server & Environment: Ability to make updates from dev, staging and to prod environments.
- SSH and SFTP — comfortable and independent, not coached.
- WP-CLI for migrations, search-replace, user management, cache flushes.
- Understanding of wp-config and environment separation (dev/staging/prod).
- Basic Linux file permissions — understands why 755/644 matters.
- Able to read an error log and act on it without escalation.
- Execute a full site migration independently: wp db export, archive, scp transfer, LocalWP import.
Repositories & Version Control:
- Familiarity with advanced deployment concepts such as GIT + CI/CD
- Git workflow participant.
- Git: merges and resolves basic conflicts on your own.
Database:
- Direct MySQL comfort — query, export, import without a GUI if needed.
- Understands serialized data well enough not to break it on find-replace.
Performance, Debugging & Version Control:
- Query Monitor fluency.
- Identifies slow queries, N+1 problems, plugin bloat impact.
- Git at a functional level: branch, commit, merge, resolve basic conflicts.
- Understands caching concepts: object cache, page cache, CDN.
AI Tool Fluency:
- Ability to use AI as a force multiplier.
- Ability to filter out answers or solutions that don’t align with code structure or server infrastructure.
- Chooses the right tool for the task — quick inline suggestions vs. a full conversational back-and-forth vs. an agentic tool that can touch files and run commands — rather than defaulting to one for everything.
Technologies Experience:
- WordPress: 4+ years’ experience
- WooCommerce experience
- HTML, CSS & JavaScript: 4+ years’ experience
- PHP: 4+ years’ experience
- MySQL Database Management & Development
- Custom 3rd party API integration
