About Bakker Construction
Bakker Construction is a Design-Build firm serving the Monterey Peninsula, specializing in custom homes and renovations where both the finished product and the experience of living through the process matter deeply.
Our mission is to transform lives, nurture community and leave a lasting legacy through the crafting of exquisite homes. Operationally, our mission is simple: to make projects run better than people expect them to run, and to change the standard of what a residential construction experience can be.
We do not define ourselves simply as “a contractor.” We define ourselves as a trusted partner—one that families rely on to enter their homes, take responsibility for complexity, and guide them from the first conversation through the final walk-through with steady leadership, clear expectations, and uncompromising standards.
The Role
The Design-Build Consultant plays a central role in growing Bakker Construction’s presence and reputation across the Monterey Peninsula. This position is the face of Bakker in the community—building the relationships, referral sources, and trust that turn a first conversation into a signed development agreement and, ultimately, a signed construction contract.
Design-Build Consultants at Bakker Construction work closely with ownership, the design team, and the production team throughout the life of a client relationship—from the first introduction at an industry event, through the sale of a development agreement, to the sale of the construction contract and beyond. This role bridges relationship-building and closing: it requires someone who can network authentically, nurture a client patiently, and ask for the business confidently.
This position is well suited for someone who enjoys both the relational and strategic sides of sales—someone who values community, thrives on building genuine long-term relationships, and takes satisfaction in guiding a prospective client all the way from a handshake to a signed contract.
What Success Looks Like in this Role
