Summary/Objective
The Greenskeeper is responsible for assisting in the general upkeep and maintenance of the golf course and corresponding club grounds and recreational facilities. Individuals will be involved in the precision maintenance of golf greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, and will assist in a variety of maintenance procedures, cultural and plant health programs, and construction projects.
Essential Functions

Performs general landscape maintenance using handheld equipment.

Rakes and maintains sand bunkers and assists in bunker renovation projects.

Operates small machinery for mowing golf and landscape grounds including walking and riding mowers.

Assists with golf course set-up procedures and daily grounds details.

Operates utility vehicles for hauling material and removing debris.

Performs skilled duties related to experience (pruning, plugging, trimming, etc.).

Operates equipment safely and is aware of associates and their prospective work areas.

Develops thorough knowledge and safe operation skills for all equipment associated in golf course maintenance.

Trim trees and ornamentals using pruners, hedge trimmers, saws, etc.

Maintains a safe and clean work and storage area.

Ability to execute a considerable amount of physical labor, such as using picks, shovels, hoes, and various equipment used in irrigation and drainage projects.

Ability to execute considerable amount of lifting. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

Must be able to safely operate and drive a utility vehicle through the entire golf course and related areas, under all types of difficult terrain.

Assists in construction projects on the golf course and occasionally assists with landscape objectives.

Operates, cleans, fills, fuels, and returns equipment to designated location at the maintenance facility.

Picks up any trash found on the golf course.

Provides general resort information for guests when applicable.

Offers warm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guests possible & good eye contact with each guest.

Interacts with club staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments when necessary.

Maintains a professional demeanor, attitude, and professional appearance.

Communicates all pertinent information to the golf maintenance team and equipment issues to the mechanics.

Work Environment
The work environment is mostly outdoors, therefore exposure to warm, cool, or windy temperatures are common as well as direct sunlight exposure. The work is performed on a professional golf course. The noise level is generally moderate.

This position is full-time. A 40–45-hour work week during the season is common. Flexible work hours and availability to work weekends and holiday as scheduled.

Requirements:
Required Education and Experience
Prior golf maintenance experience preferred or (1) year landscaping and/or property maintenance experience.
Valid Driver’s License.
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
