Full Job Description

Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Location: Central Florida

Employment Type: Full-Time

Reports to: Owner

Companies: Prince and Sons, Inc., Prince Containers, plus support for owner’s personal ventures

Position Overview: Prince and Sons, Inc. and Prince Containers are seeking an experienced hands-on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee all financial operations across both companies and support the owner’s additional business ventures. This leader will take full ownership of financial systems, job costing accuracy, QuickBooks oversight, budgeting, forecasting and strategic financial planning. The CFO will work closely with the estimating team to ensure bids are accurate, profitable and aligned with company goals. This role is ideal for a proactive financial executive who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment and enjoys building strong operational partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership and Strategy

· Lead all financial operations for Prince and Sons and Prince Containers.

· Conduct a full financial deep dive into historical data, reporting and accounting practices.

· Develop and maintain monthly, quarterly and financial reporting packages.

· Build long-term financial strategies to support company growth and personal business ventures.

· Oversee tax planning, compliance, and coordination with external accountants.

QuickBooks and Financial Systems Oversight

· Manage and optimize QuickBooks for both companies.

· Ensure accurate chart of accounts, job costing, classes and reporting structures.

· Implement financial controls, approval workflows, and audit-ready documentation.

Job Costing and Estimating Support

· Partner closely with the estimating team to ensure accurate labor rates, overhead equipment costs and margins.

· Maintain and update cost databases tied to real financial performance.

· Review major bids for profitability, risk, and alignment with company goals.

· Provide financial insights to improve bid competitiveness and project outcomes.

Cash Flow, Budgeting and Forecasting

· Manage budgets, forecasts, and capital planning.

· Monitor financial performance and provide actionable insights to leadership.

Personal Business Ventures Support

· Help with personal investments and reporting to CPA firm.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred)

· 7+ years of financial leadership experience, ideally in construction, manufacturing, or job-costing industries.

· Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and financial reporting systems.

· Strong understanding of job costing, bidding, and project profitability.

· Proven ability to manage multiple entities and complex financial structures.

· Excellent communication skills and ability to work closely with operational teams.

· High integrity, strong work ethic and ability to operate independently.

· Any experience in landscape maintenance is a plus, not mandatory.
