The Installer plays an important role on each and every project. Our two-person installation teams (sometimes 3) are responsible for the completion of all aspects of Garage Living projects. Experienced flake floor installers (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUAqZ-bIkUg) are critical for the delivery of our proprietary floor solutions, but Projects require general carpentry field skills (installations include steel cabinetry, slatwall, overhead storage, etc...) and it is possible that crews may focus on one or the other service are over time.
The Installer’s role includes but is not limited to:
Essential Functions:
- Take direction from the Lead Installer to see that the materials for a job are loaded properly onto the truck.
- Ensuring all company tools and vehicles are operated properly and in a safe manner.
- Understand the project according to the documents prepared by the office and Designer.
- Maintain a clean and safe jobsite, always leave the customers' home in a clean and orderly state.
- Maintain a clean and safe Garage Living vehicle and warehouse.
- Learn all aspects of the working with and installing Garage Living products, from Lead Installer as well as the Garage Living Academy
Performing installation – The Installer takes direction from the Lead Installer to help with assigned tasks in a project. The Lead Installer will typically perform the more difficult or skilled tasks while delegating the less involved elements to the assistant Installer. It is expected that Installers will grow into Lead Installer roles as soon as they are capable and the workload warrants.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in construction, carpentry, concrete, or related fields.
- Project experience
- Has worked in teams and independently to complete projects
- Has a vehicle and valid driver’s license – this is critical to ensure the employee is punctual and can operate the company vehicle
- Clean driving record
- A true problem solver
- Good communication skills
- A winning attitude - motivated
- Physically presentable – clean cut, professional and dressed appropriately for the role. Shows up every day in a clean uniform
- Clean background/criminal record
- Ability and willingness to take direction – but still willing to speak up and ask questions, point out opportunities to improve a job
- In physical condition necessary to perform the physical labour required to complete installations
- Punctual
- Willingness to travel within the State of Colorado for short periods of time (2-5 days) is helpful
