Full Job Description

Spero Family Services is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Early Childhood Education teachers and assistant teachers to join our team. As a Bright Start employee, you will play a pivotal role in providing a stimulating and nurturing environment for young learners to thrive. This position is a great opportunity for someone looking for a dependent, consistent schedule but not full-time hours.

Bright Start Early Learning Center provides outstanding childcare for children 6 weeks through preschool. We offer a faith-based environment and age-structured rooms that allow teachers to help children learn in a safe, loving environment through discovery and play.

This is a part-time position that will work approximately 2 - 3 days per week and have a set weekly schedule.

Key Duties:

Program Operations: Under the direction of the classroom Teacher, assist with the day-to-day operations of the program and ensure daily care, welfare, safety and education of all children. Duties may include implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities, arranging and maintaining the classroom, preparing materials and supplies, regularly communicating with parents, and reporting any concerns.
Direct Care: Assist with the direct supervision of children in assigned classroom. Duties may include disciplining, counseling, diapering and changing of clothes, potty training, meals, and administering medication.
Documentation: Ensure all documentation and reports are accurate and completed in a timely manner. Duties may include daily reports and maintaining records.
Other: Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent, at least 19 years old, valid driver’s license or ID, and meet applicable DCFS licensing requirements.
Preferred: Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and previous experience working with children. Ability to obtain a driver’s clearance.
Skills: Must be organized, have good written and verbal communication skills, basic computer skills, and the ability to multi-task.
Miscellaneous: Pass all pre-employment drug screens, health screens, and background clearance. Must be able to use cleaning products on a daily basis. Must have enough physical strength to provide direct supervision and assistance to children in a classroom setting, the ability to be outdoors for prolonged periods of time, and ability to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to repetitively bend, stoop, and lift up to 50lbs.

Pay: $17.00 - $21.25 per hour
