Full Job Description

Location :

Plattsburgh, NY (just off of Spellman road) near the I87 -parking available on site

Must be able to periodically travel to our sister plant located in Boucherville, Canada for training purposes.

Role:

Interpret Schematics: Read technical drawings, single-line blueprints, and circuit schematics to deploy or update equipment layout.
System Installation: Assemble, wire, and connect electrical panels, switches, circuit breakers, and complex distribution boxes.
Critical Thinking: Fast analytical processing to trace electronic failures back to the root cause under intense downtime pressure.
Fault Diagnosis: Troubleshoot malfunctioning electronic equipment, control circuits, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
Maintenance Programs: Execute strict preventive maintenance logs on low-voltage infrastructure, generators, and UPS networks.
Serve as front-line engineering support for production, providing rapid troubleshooting and resolution of electrical, wiring, harness, PCB, controls, and system-level issues.
Assist in defining and documenting electrical assembly and manufacturing process specifications.
Analyze production build issues to identify root causes and develop clear and actionable rework or repair instructions.
Work closely with production supervisors, quality engineers, and system engineers to resolve real-time electrical manufacturing problems and prevent recurrence.
Interface with internal customers on assigned projects to address electrical technical concerns and communicate corrective actions.
Monitor production processes across manufacturing facilities to ensure electrical work instructions, wiring standards, and test procedures are followed.
Review non-conforming electrical components and assemblies to determine appropriate disposition (use-as-is, rework, or rejection).
Manage Return Material Authorization (RMA) evaluations for electrical items and provide documented findings.
Compile and interpret results of electrical tests, inspections, and analyses; prepare engineering reports, charts, and data summaries.
Support the Production Manager by identifying opportunities for electrical process improvements, tooling needs, and workflow optimization.
Provide cost estimates for materials, documentation changes, labor requirements, and process updates related to electrical systems.
Perform all other duties as assigned.Requirements
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field, with at least 3 years of experience supporting manufacturing or industrial production.
Hands-on experience in electrical troubleshooting, including wiring, harnesses, control panels, components, and system-level electrical diagnostics.
Experience working with and implementing an ERP system.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts and continuous improvement tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, especially in diagnosing electrical issues under time pressure.
Effective technical communication skills for interacting with production teams, leadership, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering groups.
Highly motivated, self-directed, and capable of prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced production environment.
Proficient with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office programs.
