Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Chemical Tanker Dispatcher to coordinate the safe, efficient, and compliant transportation of hazardous and non-hazardous bulk liquid products. This role serves as the primary point of contact between drivers, customers, operations, maintenance, and leadership to ensure on-time deliveries, maximize equipment utilization, and provide outstanding customer service while maintaining compliance with all DOT, FMCSA, HazMat, OSHA, and company policies.

Key Responsibilities
Daily Dispatch Operations
- Dispatch company drivers and owner-operators safely and efficiently.
- Assign loads to maximize revenue, equipment utilization, and driver productivity.
- Coordinate pickups, deliveries, trailer assignments, and equipment availability.
- Monitor shipments from pickup through delivery.
- Maintain regular communication with drivers throughout the day.
- Balance customer needs with driver Hours of Service (HOS) requirements.
- Minimize empty miles while meeting customer commitments.
- Identify and resolve potential service issues before they impact customers.
Driver Communication
- Provide complete dispatch instructions and trip details.
- Communicate customer requirements, PPE expectations, routing instructions, wash requirements, and delivery information.
- Assist drivers with operational issues while on the road.
- Escalate safety, compliance, equipment, or customer concerns promptly.
- Maintain professional and respectful communication with drivers.
Customer Service
- Serve as the primary operational contact for assigned customers.
- Provide shipment status updates and proactive communication.
- Notify customers of delays before scheduled appointment times whenever possible.
- Coordinate schedule changes and customer requests.
- Build strong customer relationships through dependable service.
- Resolve transportation issues quickly and professionally.
Shipment Monitoring
Utilize transportation management systems and GPS tracking software to monitor:
- Driver locations
- Estimated arrival times
- Pickup and delivery status
- Hours of Service
- Customer appointment times
- Delays
- Detention and demurrage
- Equipment utilization
Communicate significant operational issues to customers and management as needed.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance
Ensure compliance with:
- FMCSA regulations
- DOT regulations
- Hazardous Materials Regulations
- Hours of Service requirements
- Company safety policies
- Customer-specific safety requirements
Immediately report safety or compliance concerns.
Administrative Duties
- Enter and maintain transportation orders within the dispatch system.
- Maintain accurate dispatch records and shipment documentation.
- Verify shipment status updates.
- Record customer communications.
- Support billing accuracy by ensuring dispatch information is complete.
Continuous Improvement

Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years of transportation dispatch or logistics experience
Preferred
- Bulk liquid transportation experience
- Chemical or hazardous materials transportation experience
- Experience dispatching CDL Class A drivers
- Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and GPS fleet tracking software

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
