Mohs Technician / Histology Technician / Histology Technologist
24 or 32 hrs per week - Competitive Pay

Darabi Dermatology is a growing medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology practice serving the southwest Twin Cities. Our main clinic and in-house laboratory are located in Chaska, Minnesota.

We are known for delivering efficient, high-quality, patient-centered dermatologic care, including Mohs micrographic surgery and frozen section dermatopathology services in a modern private practice setting.

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Mohs Technician or Histology Technician or Histology Technologist to join our team.

This position offers a unique combination of flexibility, autonomy, competitive compensation, and hands-on frozen section laboratory work in a supportive small-team environment.

Position Highlights

Flexible Schedule Structure

This role combines:

One fixed weekday per week providing Mohs Technician services
Two to three additional days per week to process 30-50 weekly frozen biopsies

Laboratory Responsibilities

Accession specimens in the laboratory information system (LIS)
Gross, ink and relax frozen tissue specimens for Mohs micrographic surgery
Gross, ink, freeze, section, stain, and mount tissue specimens accurately and efficiently
Perform high-quality cryostat sectioning and staining
Maintain proper specimen labeling, quality control, and documentation
Maintain laboratory logs, manuals, and reagent inventory
Assist with laboratory equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
Ensure compliance with laboratory safety and CLIA regulatory standards
Maintain efficient laboratory workflow and turnaround times

Qualifications

Mohs Technician, Histology Technician (HT), Histology Technologist (HTL) preferred
Familiarity with histology laboratory workflow and best practices
Frozen section experience preferred
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and efficiently
Dependable, professional, and self-motivated with ability to troubleshoot section quality
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
