About Jeffan
Jeffan International is a designer, importer, and distributor of home furnishings serving retailers, e-commerce marketplaces, wholesale customers, and direct-to-consumer channels throughout North America.
This position also supports Jeffan Group LLC, Jeffan International's sister company, which owns and manages the commercial property where Jeffan International is headquartered along with other commercial tenants.
This unique position provides an opportunity to develop a broad accounting background while also gaining hands-on exposure to commercial real estate and business operations.
Position Summary
The Staff Accountant will support both Jeffan International, Inc. and Jeffan Group LLC, with responsibilities expected to be divided approximately 50% between each company.
The Jeffan International portion of the role will focus primarily on corporate accounting, including general ledger accounting, reconciliations, month-end close, e-commerce and wholesale accounting, inventory accounting, and financial reporting.
The Jeffan Group portion will combine accounting with commercial property administration and operational support, including tenant billing, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, lease administration, tenant communication, vendor and contractor coordination, property walkthroughs, and property-related projects.
The actual allocation of time may vary based on month-end requirements, projects, and business needs.
This position reports directly to the Controller and is designed for someone interested in developing a long-term career in accounting while gaining exposure to multiple businesses and areas of responsibility.
Approximate Allocation of Responsibilities
Jeffan International – 50%
Corporate accounting, e-commerce and wholesale accounting, inventory and cost accounting, reconciliations, month-end close, financial reporting, and other accounting and finance activities.
Jeffan Group LLC – 50%
Accounting, commercial property administration, lease administration, tenant relations, vendor and contractor coordination, property oversight, and operational support.
Primary ResponsibilitiesJeffan International
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Maintain general ledger accounts and supporting schedules.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
- Prepare account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Assist with inventory and cost accounting.
- Assist with accounting for e-commerce, wholesale, and retail sales channels.
- Reconcile merchant processors and customer payment activity.
- Assist with freight, landed cost, and other inventory-related accounting.
- Maintain fixed asset and prepaid schedules.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules.
- Assist with documentation and schedules requested by the company's outside CPA firm.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
- Cross-train on key accounting functions to provide additional departmental coverage.

Jeffan Group LLC
Accounting Responsibilities
- Maintain accounting records for Jeffan Group LLC.
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Perform bank reconciliations.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Prepare tenant invoices and record rent collections.
- Maintain supporting schedules and accounting documentation.
- Assist with month-end financial reporting.
- Assist with budgeting and analysis related to property operations.
Commercial Property Administration & Operational Responsibilities
- Maintain lease agreements, tenant files, and related documentation.
- Assist with lease administration and tracking important lease requirements and dates.
- Communicate with tenants regarding property and lease-related matters.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors regarding maintenance, repairs, and property projects.
- Assist with obtaining and reviewing vendor proposals and coordinating approved work.
- Monitor outstanding property-related matters and follow up as necessary.
- Conduct periodic walkthroughs of the commercial property to identify, document, and follow up on maintenance, tenant, safety, and general property-related matters.
- Assist with general property oversight and coordination.
- Support special projects and other property administration or operational activities as needed.

Qualifications
Required
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Understanding of fundamental accounting principles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on responsibilities.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with others.
- Willingness to learn both accounting and commercial property administration.

Preferred
- 1–5 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related experience.
- Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite experience is preferred.
- Excel experience including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.
- QuickBooks experience is a plus.
- Experience with inventory, distribution, e-commerce, commercial real estate, or multi-entity accounting is a plus.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment
This position combines traditional office-based accounting responsibilities with periodic commercial property administration activities.
- Ability to work at a computer for extended periods and perform routine office duties.
- Ability to move throughout the office, warehouse, and commercial property as needed.
- Ability to walk interior and exterior areas of the property to assist with property inspections, tenant matters, maintenance issues, and vendor or contractor coordination.
- Ability to use stairs and access various areas of the property as necessary.
- Ability to occasionally stand or walk for extended periods and bend or reach while performing property-related responsibilities.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.

Pay: $48,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
