Full Job Description

Job Summary

Join our dedicated team as a NW GA Caregiver and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring compassionate, personalized care. In this vital role, you will provide assistance with daily living activities, monitor patient health, and support residents in a variety of settings including group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and home health environments. Your energetic and caring approach will foster a safe, supportive atmosphere where clients can thrive. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop your caregiving skills while positively impacting the community.

Duties

Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using manual handling techniques like Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods
Monitor and record vital signs, observe patient behavior, and report any changes to healthcare professionals to ensure optimal care plans are followed
Administer medications accurately following HIPAA guidelines and medication administration protocols
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and preparation
Support patients with cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease through specialized memory care techniques and patient observation
Maintain a clean environment by performing light housekeeping duties including cleaning resident areas and ensuring infection control standards are met
Provide personal transportation assistance for appointments or community outings, ensuring safety during transfers and travel

Skills

Proven experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments
Strong knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, hospice care, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism
Skilled in patient monitoring, vital signs measurement, medication administration, and emergency response procedures like CPR and first aid
Familiarity with care plans development and implementation for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities
Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams while maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA regulations
Experience using patient transfer equipment such as Hoyer lifts and understanding resident’s <PERSON> needs
Capable of heavy lifting and manual handling to assist with patient transfers or mobility support while adhering to safety standards
