About Us

Virginia Plastic Surgery is a leading cosmetic and reconstructive surgery practice with offices in Suffolk and Virginia Beach, Virginia. We are dedicated to providing exceptional patient care in a professional, supportive, and team-oriented environment. We are seeking experienced Medical Assistants who are passionate about healthcare, patient service, and contributing to a collaborative practice where flexibility and teamwork are essential.

Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Duties

Room patients and prepare them for exams and procedures
Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health information
Assist providers during in-office procedures and post-operative visits
Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked exam rooms
Provide patient education and post-procedure care instructions
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and all clinical protocols

Front Office Duties

Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with scheduling needs
Schedule consultations, procedures, and follow-up appointments
Verify patient demographics and insurance information
Assist with patient check-in and check-out processes
Document patient interactions accurately within the electronic medical record (EMR)
Support administrative workflows as needed to ensure efficient clinic operations

Team Expectations

Maintain proficiency in both clinical and front office responsibilities
Cross-cover front office duties during staffing shortages, vacations, or periods of increased patient volume
Demonstrate flexibility and a team-first approach to supporting practice operations
Travel between Suffolk and Virginia Beach locations as needed

Qualifications

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred
Minimum one (1) year of experience in a clinical healthcare setting required
Plastic Surgery, Dermatology, Aesthetics, or Surgical practice experience preferred
Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills
Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and basic computer systems
Ability and willingness to be fully trained and proficient in front office operations
Professional appearance and commitment to delivering an exceptional patient experience
Reliable transportation and ability to work at both Suffolk and Virginia Beach locations
