About Lounge It Up
Lounge It Up is a full-service event design and production company specializing in distinctive furniture rentals, custom fabrication, graphics, lighting, floral, and immersive event environments. We collaborate with leading event planners, corporate clients, venues, and private families throughout New Jersey, New York, and the surrounding region to create unforgettable celebrations.
We're looking for a creative, organized, and hands-on Event Floral Designer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys floral design while also taking pride in organization, production, and bringing event concepts to life.
Unlike a traditional flower shop, most floral work is completed in our warehouse during daytime production hours, creating floral arrangements for Bar & Bat Mitzvahs, corporate events, and private celebrations.
Position Overview
Working closely with the Director of Client Experience & Design, you'll help execute approved floral concepts from start to finish. You'll be responsible for preparing fresh flowers, creating arrangements using established recipes, organizing inventory, preparing centerpiece components, and ensuring every floral detail is production-ready for each event.
While creative input is always welcomed, this role is focused on executing approved event designs with consistency, craftsmanship, and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Process, hydrate, and prepare fresh floral deliveries.
- Create floral arrangements using approved recipes and event concepts.
- Prepare vases, candles, floral mechanics, and centerpiece components.
- Assist with floral prototypes, table showings, and design development when requested.
- Pack floral arrangements and décor for event installations.
- Assist with onsite event installations and styling as needed.
- Reset and organize the floral production area following each event weekend.
- Wash and organize vases, vessels, candleholders, and floral inventory.
- Monitor inventory levels of floral foam, supplies, candles, tools, vessels, and centerpiece accessories.
- Perform routine inventory counts and communicate replenishment needs.
- Inspect inventory to ensure all floral products meet Lounge It Up's quality standards.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and production-ready workspace.
Qualifications
- Professional floral design experience preferred. Event floral experience is a plus.
- Strong eye for color, texture, composition, and design.
- Excellent organization and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Saturday availability for event installations is strongly encouraged.
Schedule
This is a full-time position with our busiest production season running September through June. Summer hours may focus on inventory organization, design preparation, and special projects as needed.
Hours vary based on our event calendar and production schedule, typically averaging 3–4 weekdays per week, with additional hours available during busy production weeks.
Most production takes place Tuesday through Friday, with occasional Saturday event installations. Sundays are typically not required.
