Currently located in Chino, California, the company's headquarters houses its Administration, Engineering and Design, Manufacturing, and Customer Support departments.
· 1st Shift Schedule is; M-F: 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, with frequent O/T opportunity.
· 2nd Shift Schedule is; M-F: 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm, with frequent O/T opportunity.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
As a welder fitter you should be able to read blueprints and properly lay-out, cut holes, prepare with proper bevel preparation to tack parts together and weld complete per the required welding symbols all according job blueprints. Must pass welding tests to qualify for welding procedures called out on blueprints. Must be able to understand degrees and elevations for layout on various items including vessels, tanks, structural in various materials from Carbon Steel, Stainless Steels and some exotics.
JOB RESPONSABILITIES:
· Must have 3-5 years of Mig/Tig/SAW or similar welding experience to X-ray quality standards.
· Must be able to properly regulate welding Equipment per welding procedure ranges.
· Must be able to weld while in varied positions such as kneeling, standing etc. inside and outside tanks for extended periods of time.
· Must understand weld rod care and proper use as well as be familiar with all weld procedures qualified to weld.
· Must be able to maintain a clean and organized work area.
· Must own and maintain basic personal protection equipment (PPE).
· Must understand joint designs and weld symbols as well as weld size requirements from drawing.
· Must be able to verify proper weld preparation including bevel detail based on blue print.
· Must get along with others and be able to follow directions and have a positive disposition.
· Must adhere to all safety policies of SGE.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· Ability to read, write and communicate effectively.
· Understand PPE and use it properly to adhere to all SGE safety policies.
· Ability to work in various conditions and various heights.
· Physical demand requirements require ability to sit/stand for extended periods of time and often lift loads up to 50 pounds.
· Must be able to interpret blue print weld symbols and execute welds to proper penetration, fillet size and visual acceptance, including X-ray, UT and surface MT/PT testing requirements.
