Tool Die Maker - All Shifts
Location: San Diego, CA
Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
Salary: $36 - $39 per year + Benefits

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Tooling Technician / Toolmaker to support manufacturing operations in San Diego, CA. This position involves the fabrication, assembly, repair, modification, and maintenance of dies, fixtures, jigs, gauges, and other production tooling.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on tooling experience, CNC machine setup skills, blueprint reading ability, and experience troubleshooting and improving manufacturing tooling.

Responsibilities

Fabricate, assemble, repair, and modify production tooling.
Set up and operate CNC and other machine-shop equipment.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, tooling prints, and sketches.
Build and repair forming, blanking, and piercing tooling.
Work with jigs, fixtures, gauges, templates, and other tooling.
Perform tooling adjustments and modifications based on production requirements.
Inspect tooling and troubleshoot tooling-related problems.
Identify causes of tooling failures and recommend corrective actions.
Support tooling improvements and manufacturing process improvements.
Work with Engineering, Manufacturing, Production, and Tool Design teams.
Maintain tooling documentation and production records.
Apply shop mathematics and trigonometry when required.

Requirements

2+ years of CNC machine setup and operation experience required.
Previous Toolmaker / Tool & Die experience required.
Strong blueprint and engineering drawing interpretation skills.
Working knowledge of GD&T and datum structures.
Experience using precision measuring tools, including:
Micrometers
Bore micrometers
Calipers
Dial indicators
Strong knowledge of shop mathematics and trigonometry.
Experience fabricating, repairing, modifying, and troubleshooting tooling.
Ability to identify and resolve tooling and manufacturing issues.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
