Full Job Description

Overview

Physical Therapy Billing Services is looking for a detail-oriented professional to join our Billing Operations team as a Billing Support Associate. This role is best suited for an organized, process-driven, & tech-savvy candidate!

This is a technical, back-office position focused on medical billing and coding; no prior experience is required, and we’ll provide comprehensive training for the right candidate!

If you’ve worked in high-volume customer service, retail management, administrative support/leadership, or billing roles, we’d love to hear from you.

Please note: This is a back-office, administrative position and does not directly work in a doctors office.

Your Role

Accurately process and manage billing for medical services in compliance with current regulations.
Apply ICD-10 and ICD-9 codes to diagnoses and procedures (training provided!).
Consistently review and update patient accounts, ensuring billing accuracy.
Communicate with insurance companies about claims, denials, and appeals.
Follow up with patients and insurers on outstanding balances.
Maintain clear and organized records of transactions, payments, and invoices.
Partner with medical office staff to resolve billing questions.
Keep informed on billing regulations and updates in medical coding practices.

What you bring

Strong attention to detail & the ability to spot inconsistencies.
Excellent communication skills - comfortable speaking with clients and insurance providers over the phone and via email.
Strong organizational skills & the ability to manage multiple priorities/pipeline of tasks.
A positive attitude, eagerness to learn, & a commitment to high-quality work.
Proficiency with computers & comfort working on them daily.

Bonus skills! (But not required)

Experience in high-level customer service, management, or leadership roles are highly valuable!
Experience in billing, medical administration, or a support role.
Familiarity with ICD-10/ICD-9, DRG, and/or medical collections.
Knowledge of billing software or EHR systems.
