About us

Nibas & Associates P.C is a small business in Southfield, MI.

Position Summary

Our accounting office is looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage daily financial records and client bookkeeping services. You will organize financial data, record transactions, and help maintain accurate books for our diverse client base.

Key Responsibilities

Client Record Keeping: Maintain and update general ledgers and financial records for multiple clients.
Transaction Entry: Record daily cash receipts, vendor payments, invoices, and bank deposits accurately.
Bank Reconciliations: Reconcile bank and credit card accounts on a monthly basis.
Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process bills, track payments, and follow up on outstanding client invoices.
Payroll Processing: Assist with payroll preparation and payroll tax filings when needed.
Financial Reporting: Prepare preliminary balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports for review by accountants.
Document Management: Organize and secure client financial documents physically and digitally.
Client Communication: Answer basic client questions and request missing financial documents.

Qualifications

Experience: Minimum 1 to 3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a public accounting firm or bookkeeping service.
Education: High school diploma required; Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plus.
Software Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks (Online and Desktop), Microsoft Excel, and cloud-based accounting tools.
Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with high accuracy in data entry.
Communication Skills: Professional written and verbal communication skills to interact with clients and team members.
Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive financial information with strict discretion.

Working Conditions

Office environment with options for hybrid work flexibility.
Full-time position with extra hours required during peak tax seasons.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
