Quality Control Microbiologist (Bioburden/Endotoxin/EM)

Job Details

Job Type: 12-Month Contract
Pay: $25.00–$30.00 per hour
Schedule: Wednesday–Saturday, four 10-hour shifts
Hours: Must attend the daily team meeting at 8:15 AM; remaining work hours are flexible based on operational needs.
Work Location: Holly Springs, NC (100% On-site)
Work Environment: cGMP pharmaceutical laboratory and manufacturing environment

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Microbiologist to support microbiological testing and quality activities in a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This 12-month contract position offers the opportunity to perform critical testing of raw materials, environmental samples, utilities, validation samples, and manufactured products while ensuring compliance with cGMP and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Perform microbiological testing on raw materials, environmental monitoring samples, utilities, validation samples, and manufactured products.
Collect, test, review, and accurately document QC microbiology samples in accordance with SOPs and regulatory requirements.
Ensure test results are valid, accurate, and reported in compliance with quality standards.
Perform laboratory testing following established SOPs, protocols, and cGMP guidelines.
Support method validations, method transfers, and assay development activities as needed.
Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Investigate laboratory deviations, author laboratory investigations, and complete invalid assay assessments.
Maintain compliance with safety policies, regulatory requirements, and company quality standards.
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Biology, Microbiology, or another related scientific field required.
Experience performing environmental monitoring in a manufacturing environment.
Experience working in an analytical testing laboratory through industry or academic laboratory experience.
Knowledge of microbiology laboratory techniques and laboratory documentation practices.
Strong attention to detail, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a cGMP pharmaceutical laboratory.
Experience using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
Experience performing Bioburden, Endotoxin, and Sterility testing.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
