Quality Inspector

The Role
BlueSky Innovations is seeking 2 Quality Inspectors with 3 or more years of experience working within a machine shop and assembly manufacturing environment. The position will work with the Quality Manager to implement and maintain quality standards throughout the organization. The ideal team member will have experience working in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving manufacturing environment and will be familiar with the measurement tools, drawings, and processes of a AS9100D certified quality system.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
· Incoming Inspection –
o Review receiving documents, drawings, and product to assure that it meets the requirements of the purchase order.
· In-process Inspection –
o Assure operators are meeting the drawing and Quality requirements of the product being manufactured.
o Instruct operators on the proper use of gauges and fixtures.
o Provide assurance of the manufacturing process through random sampling.
· First article/First piece inspection prior to releasing full manufacturing runs.
· Final and in-process inspection of tooling, components, and prototype parts using CMM, various gauges and visual inspection to build packages as required.
· Assure all measurement equipment is properly calibrated and scheduled maintenance is tracked.
· Participate in MRB process to assure inventory is properly dispositioned.
· Maintain vendor records and documentation to assure vendor meets performance requirements as well as supply chain compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Requirements:
· Willingness to program and operate Zeiss CMM using Calypso software a plus.
· Ability to read blueprints/drawings and understand product specifications and requirements.
· Ability to perform measurements of precision components to ensure specifications are met.
· Ability to perform general shop math, use of quantitative software including excel.
· Ability to instruct others in the proper use of measuring devices to achieve close tolerances.
· Completion of customer inspection reports per instructions and requirements
Required Skills and Education
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Three (3) + years of experience working in a precision manufacturing environment operating measuring equipment.
· Experience inspecting Raw materials, machined parts, anodized parts and built assemblies
· Knowledge and experience with AS9100 and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
· Experience with Microsoft office products
· Ability to read and communicate in English for safety and instructional reasons.
· Dependable and reliable
· Stand, bend, sit for long periods of time and lift 35 lbs.
Pay: $25.00 - $28.50 per hour
