Job description:

Belleair Country Club is looking for someone professional, friendly, reliable, and self-motivated to join our team as the Purchasing Director.

Strong communication skills, computer, food, and product knowledge are a must.

Must have experience in restaurant purchasing and food ordering, with a deep understanding of vendor relationships, menu-driven ordering cycles, and cost control in a hospitality setting.

This position is full time. The Club is open seven days a week, 364 days a year (closed on Christmas Day). Must be available to work weekends and holidays.

$25.00-$28.00 per hour. Based on experience.

Job Duties:

Supply Management of Clubhouse needs to include but not limited to Food, Beverage, and Cleaning Supplies
Verifies purchase requisitions by comparing items requested to master list; clarifying unclear items; recommending alternatives.
Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price; obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items
Obtains purchased items by forwarding orders to suppliers; monitoring and expediting orders and organizing and rotating upon receiving.
Verifies receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered; resolves shipments in error with suppliers.
Authorizes payment for purchases by forwarding receiving documentation to the Accounting Department.
Receive, unpack, inspect, verify, store and maintain all purchases. Transport foods, beverages, supplies, and other items to areas of use.
Keeps walk-in, freezer, and storeroom areas organized, clean and in proper repair and condition. Maintains receiving and storeroom equipment in proper condition.
Assists in inventory counts.
Developing and implementing procurement strategies and policies for cost optimization and enhancing supply chain efficiency.
Identifying, evaluating and selecting suppliers based on quality, reliability, cost-effectiveness and adherence to ethical and sustainability standards.
Negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers to ensure favorable pricing, payment terms and mutually beneficial agreements.
Collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and align procurement activities with organizational goals.
Conducting market research and analysis to stay updated on industry trends, supplier capabilities and pricing fluctuations.
Managing supplier relationships, including ongoing performance evaluation, issue resolution and fostering long-term partnerships.
Monitoring inventory levels, analyzing demand patterns and implementing inventory management strategies to manage stock levels and avoid shortages or excesses.
Reports directly to the Executive Chef

Applicants should be prepared for a physical work environment including lifting up to 50 pounds.

Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job position.

Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, crouch, bend, lift, climb, and stoop.

Local to Belleair FL candidates preferred.
