Full Job Description

Job Summary:

The Information Technology Intern will assist with day-to-day activities by maintaining IT systems, managing support tickets and providing operational support.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Technical Support:
Provide first-level technical support to users via phone, email, or in person.
Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues and provide timely resolution.
Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT staff or external vendors as needed.
Installation and Configuration:
Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, peripherals, and software applications.
Set up user accounts, email accounts, and access permissions according to company policies and procedures.
Ensure that all IT equipment and software are properly configured and updated to meet user needs.
Hardware and Software Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on hardware components, such as computers, printers, and network devices.
Install and update software applications, patches, and security updates as needed.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.
IT Infrastructure Management:
Assist in the setup and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including servers, routers, switches, and firewalls.
Monitor network performance and security and implement measures to protect against unauthorized access and data breaches.
Ensure compliance with IT policies, procedures, and security standards.
Documentation and Training:
Maintain accurate records of IT inventory, including hardware, software licenses, and warranties.
Document technical procedures, troubleshooting steps, and solutions for common IT issues.
Provide training and support to users on IT systems, software applications, and best practices.

Competencies:

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Strong technical knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking technologies.

· Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing hardware and software issues.

Education and Experience:

· Associate's degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred). Current enrollment in courses is acceptable.

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk.

· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Pay: $18.50 - $20.00 per hour
