Full Job Description

We are looking for an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our team in south Mississippi and provide Basic Life Support to patients and assist the paramedic within his or her scope of practice. The EMT is responsible for the safe driving of the ambulance and for providing medical and emotional care within the scope of EMT certification to ill or injured patients.

The candidate must have a valid driver's license, have a clean driving record, be nationally registered as an EMT, and be able to attain Mississippi certification at the EMT level.

The work is strenuous and demands bending, twisting, squatting, lifting, repetitive movements, coordination, stamina, remaining alert and attentive for long periods of time, and traversing varied terrain in adverse weather conditions. The candidate must be able to lift onto a stretcher and then carry, with assistance of a partner, a person weighing not less than 225 pounds.
