Full Job Description

Job purpose

Primary responsibility for overseeing all aspects of the organization’s revenue cycle, ensuring timely and accurate billing, account receivable management, and compliance with applicable regulations. This position works closely with operations, clinical/program staff, and external payers to maximize revenue and minimize billing errors and denial.

Duties and responsibilities

Assist Controller in maintaining procedures for keeping agency current and in compliance with all federal, state and local laws and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Manage the daily operations of the revenue cycle, including billings, claims processing, payment posting, and accounts receivable.
Work closely with the Billing accountant.
Monitor claim denials and work with clinical staff to implement corrective actions to reduce denials.
Monitor and manage 270/271 Eligibility reports for Medicaid payer authorization for new Medicaid behavioral health utilization received from our Billing company BHBS.
Assist with audits by preparing requested documentation and responding to auditors’ inquiries.
Prepare monthly reports for executive leadership on revenue cycle performance, especially as it relates to reauthorizations.
Manage payer authorizations within Carelogic.
Work with billing consultants at BHBS to ensure accurate and timely billing of Medicaid services.
Review and manage billing denials, rejections, and failed claims.
Work with Controller to analyze and book revenue and revenue accrual entries monthly.
Assist with preparation for annual financial audits as directed by Controller and/or Chief Financial Officer.
Assist with preparation of grant invoicing monthly.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or relevant years’ experience in public accounting or non-profit.
Familiarity with State of Ohio Medicaid billing.
Experience with payer authorization.
Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel and Outlook.
Experience working with electronic health records.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others.
Effective organizational skills and attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
Ability to make appropriate decisions and use sound judgment.
Display professionalism and team-oriented attitudes.

Pay: $53,000.00 - $77,000.00 per year
