Full Job Description

We're seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to develop and implement efficient CNC programs. In this role, you'll collaborate with engineering teams to optimize designs for manufacturability, select appropriate tooling, and ensure program accuracy. Your expertise will directly impact production efficiency and product quality.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with product manufacturing engineers on initial product designs and redesign efforts to improve manufacturability.
Develop machining processes and select tools for individual components and sub-assemblies to optimize production.
Manage NC program files, ensuring revision control and security in compliance with established procedures.
Act as a technical resource, providing training and mentorship to operator programmers to enhance their skills.
Participate in equipment acquisition teams, contributing to the selection of new NC machine tools.
Provide feedback on Design for Manufacturability (DFM) to improve product design.
Optimize machining processes to reduce production unit costs and increase productivity.

Qualifications:

Required Skills

Due to DoD requirements, candidates must be US citizens.
Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD Security clearances and approvals.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment with experience in machining.
Proficiency in using CAM software, such as Mastercam, for NC program generation.

Preferred Skills

Experience with Siemens NX CAD for NC Programming.
Strong blueprint reading skills, particularly involving GD&T per ASME Y14.5M.
Experience working with commercial nuclear and/or military quality systems.
Proficiency in using MS Word and Excel.
Knowledge of 3D solid modeling.
