Clinical Psychologist – Cognitive & Psychological Assessment
POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a licensed psychologist with a strong background in cognitive and psychological assessment to join our growing team. This role focuses on evaluating cognitive functioning, mental health status, and decision‑making capacity in adults residing in long‑term care settings. The ideal candidate has expertise in administering and interpreting cognitive tests and is passionate about producing meaningful, actionable insights to support individualized care planning.
This is a remote‑first position; however, some in‑person evaluations in long‑term care facilities may be required based on clinical need and facility preference. The role offers flexible scheduling, a collaborative support structure, and the opportunity to make a real‑world impact through thoughtful, evidence‑based assessment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assessment & Clinical Reporting
- Administer and interpret cognitive and psychological assessments to evaluate capacity, cognitive strengths and weaknesses, and psychosocial functioning.
- Generate concise, functional reports that offer treatment recommendations tailored to each client’s unique presentation.
- Communicate assessment findings in a clinically relevant and interdisciplinary‑friendly manner.
- Collaborate with referring providers, case managers, and care teams to support comprehensive care planning.
- Provide limited ongoing monitoring and supportive psychotherapy when clinically appropriate, complementing the primary focus on assessment.
- Monitor changes in functioning over time to inform ongoing care needs and decision‑making.
Collaboration & Communication
- Maintain professional and responsive communication with team members and facility contacts.
- Participate in virtual case discussions and peer consultations as needed.
- Help prioritize assessment referrals based on clinical appropriateness and urgency.
- Provide optional consultation to staff or caregivers regarding cognitive and emotional functioning.
Administrative & Documentation
- Maintain timely, accurate, and HIPAA‑compliant documentation.
- Complete reports, progress notes, and billing entries according to company guidelines.
- Use provided templates and structured tools to increase efficiency and consistency.
- Collaborate with administrative support for scheduling and documentation logistics.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology or a related field from an accredited program.
- Active license to practice as a psychologist in California.
- Strong experience with cognitive and psychological testing, including tools used in capacity evaluations.
- Familiarity with adult mental health, cognitive disorders, and differential diagnosis.
- Experience assessing and diagnosing co‑occurring medical and mental health conditions is highly beneficial.
- Ability to write clear, concise reports that translate test findings into real‑world implications; our team provides support through structured templates and software that streamline scoring and report generation.
- Self‑motivated and comfortable working independently in a remote or hybrid model.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
Preferred (But Not Required)
- Experience conducting assessments in residential or long‑term care settings.
- Familiarity with instruments such as NAB, WAIS, COWAT, and other neuropsychological and neurobehavioral assessment tools.
- Interest in shaping assessment protocols and contributing to clinical best practices.
