Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Certified Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care and support administrative operations in a busy private practice. Your expertise will help ensure smooth patient flow, accurate documentation, and efficient medical care for patients served at this practice. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your skills in medical assisting, patient care, and clinical support will make a meaningful difference in patients lives.

Responsibilities

Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort throughout their visit.
Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy (blood draws), medication administration, EKGs and wound dressing changes.
Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) accurately by documenting patient information, medical histories, treatment plans, and ICD coding for diagnoses.
Support medical office management by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance details, and maintaining organized medical records in compliance with privacy regulations.
Supporting medication administration, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
Maintain a clean and safe clinical environment while adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards such as Basic Life Support (BLS).
Provide excellent patient service by answering questions, addressing concerns, and ensuring a positive experience during every visit.
Maintaining office lab and office supplies.

Requirements

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification from an accredited program or agency strongly preferred.
Proven experience in medical office settings with familiarity in outpatient care, hospital medicine, or urgent care environments.
Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR/EHR systems), EMR/EHR management tools, and ICD coding for accurate documentation.
Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical terminology to support comprehensive patient care.
Experience with phlebotomy techniques, medication administration protocols.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide compassionate patient service while managing multiple clinical tasks efficiently.
Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments.
