Full Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assesses patients' clinical status, evaluates progress toward goals, and recommends courses of action.
Safely performs various EEG diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to established standards (ABRET), procedural guidelines, and PNES policies.
Interacts with and explains therapeutic modalities to patients, families and the interdisciplinary team in an understandable manner based on learning styles and individual diversity.
Set up and calibrate EEG equipment according to established protocols, ensuring optimal signal quality.
Record electrical activity of the brain through EEG testing, monitoring real-time signals for accuracy.
Recognize abnormal patterns or artifacts during testing and troubleshoot equipment or procedural issues promptly.
Analyzes critical situations and applies appropriate judgement and critical thinking for problem resolution.
Accurately and reliably interprets and communicates patient results.
Collaborate with physicians and neurodiagnostic teams to review data, assist with diagnostic evaluation, and ensure comprehensive documentation.
Effectively works in a team-based environment especially during stressful situations involving quickly changing priorities.
Consistently follows all department policies and procedures.
The Electroencephalography (EEG) Technician will work under the close supervision of a physician medical director.
Demonstrates time management and organizational skills when independently taking care of patient assignments.
Seeks appropriate resources, receptive to being taught, coached, and mentored.
Keeps current on all department-based forms of communication including staff meetings and email updates.
Troubleshoots equipment issues and seeks assistance as necessary.
Recognizes, documents, and reports all unusual patient response to treatment or testing.
Anticipates and acts to prevent potential patient care problems. Maintains a safe environment.
Presents EEG educational offering to the team.
Participates in education and training of new and stablished employees assigned by the Lab Operations Manager.
Ensure all procedures adhere to safety standards, including infection control protocols and proper handling of sensitive equipment.
Must seek out appropriate resources when unsure of plan of care.
Resource for clinical problem solving related to equipment and workflow process.

Adhere to professional dress code, appearance is neat and clean.
Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
Report to work on time and as scheduled.
Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times.
Comply with all organizational policies, and standards of behavior.
Participate in continuous process and/or quality improvement projects and objectives.
Attend required meetings, trainings and in-services

QUALIFICATIONS:

More than two years of cumulative experience in EEG technology.
2+ years of experience in pediatric care.
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

REQUIREMENTS – CERTIFICATE / LICENSE:

Current Registered EEG technologist (REEGT).
At least 2 years as a Registered EEG technologist (REEGT).
High School diploma or equivalent.

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: From $38.00 per hour

Expected hours: 6 – 24 per week
