Our principals bring deep expertise across real estate lending, capital markets, securitization, asset-liability management, asset management, and credit. To date, Toorak-funded projects have renovated or stabilized housing for more than 10,000 families — an average of more than 500 families every month.

Role Overview

The System Administrator supports the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and security of the organization’s IT infrastructure. Working closely with senior IT staff, this role assists with Windows and macOS environments, supports end users, and helps ensure systems remain reliable, secure, and up to date. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, a methodical problem-solver, and communicates clearly with both technical and non-technical teammates.

Objectives

Managing Windows, or Mac systems
Upgrading, installing, and configuring application software and computer hardware
Troubleshooting and providing technical support to employees
Creating and managing system permissions and user accounts
Performing regular security tests and security monitoring
Maintaining networks and network file systems

Responsibilities and Duties

Implements, installs, configures, monitors, troubleshoots, and evaluates existing and new Microsoft Windows server operating systems.
Responsible for integration of user workstations, including MAC workstations, with Microsoft Windows server operating systems and Active Directory.
Regularly confers with IT managers, analysts, other systems administrators, and users regarding current and prospective system changes and future needs.
Provides support to site-managed technical staff regarding system administration and usage.
Directs efforts of technicians who are involved in diagnosing and correcting system related failures and performing system management activities; determines logical solutions to complex system administration and application problems.

Requirements

Qualifications

Two years of relevant experience with Microsoft Windows server operating systems, Active Directory, Group Policies and TCP/IP networking
Experience in implementing high availability Microsoft Windows servers in a high-speed network and integrating MAC workstations with Microsoft Windows servers preferred. Experience required in writing system documentation, system specifications/requirements, presentations, correspondence, studies, reports, and training materials.
Demonstrated ability to properly develop and maintain accurate documentation.
Some experience with multi-homed servers preferred.
Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers served and systems administration staff.
Ability to effectively explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical staff.
