Full Job Description

The Dietitian is responsible for implementing and maintaining programs and systems of nutritional care for the community residents. The Dietitian supports and provides services and programs for the skilled nursing center and the dietary department. The Dietitian is responsible for the weight management programs, assesses and monitors resident’s nutritional status, makes recommendations for nutrition intake and instructs individuals about food selection, preparation and principles of good nutrition. Responsible for nutritional care and demonstrating the Mission for Senior Lifestyle, in accordance with federal, state, local standards and regulations and Senior Lifestyle policies to promote the highest degree of quality care and services to our residents. This position reports to the Director of Dining Services.

Provide nutritional care planning for the skilled nursing guests/residents.
Ensure community is compliant with all nutritional regulatory standards.
Ensure completion of initial assessment (within 48 hours of admission) and all subsequent assessments following Senior Lifestyle procedures and in compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations.
Develop and update care plans as required.
Provide written recommendations for resident’s nutritional care to Skilled Nursing Administrator and/or Director of Nursing Services and Dining Services Coordinator / Director to include: diets, meal patterns, snacks, supplements and vitamins, weight frequency, and other means of nutrition.
Review Resident Confidential Diet Board/Indicator, review weights, meal consumption sheets, snacks, and supplements for accuracy.
Perform as a nutrition resource for the community and conduct informative classes as needed.
Partner with community team to ensure community is in compliance with OSHA requirements and promotion of Risk Management programs and policies; adherence to safety rules and regulations.
Practice safety procedures at all times including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire extinguishers, MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets).
Ensure safe food handling is practiced at all times.
Maintain and protect the confidentiality of resident information at all times.
Provide nutritional care planning for the skilled nursing guests/residents.
Assess, evaluate, document, and monitor the resident’s nutritional status and food preferences within 48 hours of the admission.
Provide instruction of In-Service education in conjunction with Dietary and Skilled Nursing Center services.
Conduct Quality Assurance audits including chart reviews for nutrition compliance.
Complete MDS for short-term resident and long-term residents according to the schedule provided by RNAC/MDS Coordinator.
Complete progress notes and care plans on a quarterly basis for all long-term, short-term, new admissions, and significant changes as indicated.
Maintain a log in the community of consultation activities signed by the consultant.
Meet with Director of nursing weekly to discuss nutritional concerns of residents.
Perform all duties in adherence to Senior Lifestyle Corporation standards.
Strive to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices.
Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward all residents, visitors and co-workers.
Adhere to all policies and procedures of Senior Lifestyle Corporation. Adhere to all directives, policies and procedures of the local community.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay: $38.00 - $40.00 per hour
